How to Easily Deactivate and Delete Your Snapchat Account
Welcome, everyone! In today’s article, we will discuss the straightforward process of deleting a Snapchat account. Although it may seem simple, some recent changes have made deactivating, deleting, or disabling your account a bit different. In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps on how to deactivate or delete your Snapchat account.
The Deactivation Process
To begin, let’s navigate to the profile icon on the top left of your screen. As I demonstrate on my mobile phone screen, follow these steps:
Tap on the avatar/profile icon on the top left.
Scroll down and tap on “Settings,” located on the right-top.
In the settings, tap on “Manage Account.”
If you don’t see “Manage Account,” tap on the three-line icon in the top right corner to reveal it.
Once you reach the “Manage Account” section, you will find the option to “Delete and Reactivate Account.” The actual process starts here.
Reactivating Your Account
Suppose you deactivated your account, thinking about changes or uncertainties, and wish to reactivate it within 30 days. In that case, the account won’t be deleted immediately. However, within this timeframe, your account won’t be visible in searches, and you won’t be able to send snaps.
To reactivate, log in as you normally would. If you fail to log in within 30 days, the account will be permanently deactivated. Keep in mind that the reactivation process may vary from platform to platform, and the steps I’ve outlined are specific to Android.
If you’ve forgotten your Snapchat password, the process is straightforward:
Go to your associated email (Gmail in this example).
Tap on the profile icon in the upper-right corner.
Navigate to “Settings.”
Scroll down, and under “Password,” you will find all your saved passwords.
This way, even if you’ve forgotten your password, you can easily retrieve it from your Gmail account.
In conclusion, Snapchat doesn’t make it easy for users to delete their accounts. However, by following these steps, you can successfully navigate the process. Remember to reactivate your account within 30 days if you change your mind.
